I'm very excited to perform here. Cuenca is a lovely city full of picturesque churches, beautiful city squares, busy people, and delicious food at many restaurants. The music scene is pretty vibrant, too. In the last three weeks my students and I have met and heard a concert by visiting world-renowned guitarist Pepe Romero, heard two different orchestras at multiple venues, and of course many traditionally Ecuadorian folk musics.
The concert here on Tuesday will feature all the music on my recent CD, plus a number of improvisations.
